Saying goodbye to Uncle George

Well, my Uncle George passed away a little over a week ago. This is my grandmother,who passed away three weeks before, her first child. He was 70 years old and passed while in his recliner with a grin on his face. His daughter told me it was as if he had seen his mother and smiled. It was very hard on the family, two death's in a one month period of time. He is actualy pictured below with my husband and my father at grandma's funeral.

Let's play catch-up - Moises and I attended my co-worker Joe's wedding on March 15. We had a really fun time. Pictured below is me and my friend Nikki from WaMu at the wedding. I didn't get a good picture of Joe and his beautiful bride Joanna, they all came out blurry for some reason (maybe because Moises was in control of the camera, ha ha).

On the way to Uncle George's funeral we stopped and took Jorja's picture in the bluebonnets on the side of 635. Here's how some of them turned out.

We had dinner at our house and invited Granny Karen, Uncle David and Aunt Frances. Thanks for coming over and making our evening festive. Love you!

I took some pictures last weekend of Jorja and Trouble outside playing together. Trouble is the sweetest dog when it comes to children.

Moises' Birthday 2008

Moises loves the San Antonio Spurs so for his birthday I thought I would get him tickets to the Easter Sunday Spurs/Mavericks game. Saturday night we went to dinner for his birthday and handed out his gifts. Jorja and I made him a card, Jorja gave him a Spurs cap and I provided the T-shirt with the two tickets inside. He was so shocked when he found the tickets, he couldn't believe the game was the very next day. Whew, that was a hard secret to keep for the past month. Grandma Dixon's Passing

My 92 year old Grandma Dixon passed away on Good Friday and was buried yesterday, the day after Easter Sunday. She had fallen ill and had been at my Father's House on Hospice for the final week of her life. The family was in and out the entire week checking on her. She wasn't conscience very much but when she did awake it was nice to be around and provide her comfort. It was nice to see so much family again. This is last picture I have of her. We took this picture at our Dixon Christmas Party 2007.

First Steps!

We finally had our family pictures made this past weekend. Jorja was sleepy so in the middle of the session she began to cry. I told the photographer to keep on shooting. I love this sepia pic of her crying. Isn't she too sweet.

Jorja took her first steps at daycare on Tuesday. We were of course very excited to get the news. When we got her home she walked again for us-so I went to grab the camera to video this event and she suddenly stopped. We tried for a while to get this moment on tape and it just wasn't going to happen. We are not giving up though. I'll post the video once we get it.

Our baby girl now knows how to say and wave bye bye, blow kisses(mmmm included) and give you a kiss when asked for one. She also knows how to point out on her Pinky Bear where it's nariz (nose) and ojos (eyes) are when asked. This little girl takes up so much of our time it's almost impossible to even do the laundry. We need a maid!

She had her 9 month well visit today. They say her head, weight and height are all in a very high percentage. She's a little over 20 pounds and 29 inches tall. Her head and weight look perfect to me so I'm not too worried.

Be My Valentine

Jorja's first Valentine's Day was sweet. She was dressed in her pink and red heart outfit and off to daycare she went. That night we had a candlelight dinner at home. We were hoping for a romantic evening but someone wouldn't go to sleep. We decided to put JG in her chair and pull her up to the table and share our candlelight dinner with her. We had some really nice blues music playing and danced the evening away with her. It was a very nice Valentine's Day for Moises and I both. Love was definitely in the air.

There's No Place Like Home

We three traveled home to Childress last weekend. We went to spend some time with my mom since we don't make it up there much. It was an easy trip to take in Big Blue. Jorja did great on the road, she slept most of the way. We visited with some family friends, The Dills, and their children and their children's children. We think Jorja really likes little Owen. It was cute to see them play together. We did make it to church with Grammie on Sunday and Jorja met everyone for the first time. Isn't she cute in the pink dress Stacey and Omar gave her.

Jorja also learned how to blow kisses last week. I was folding laundry and she was playing in the floor. She looks up at me and blows me a kiss - isn't that the sweetest thing! I can't believe how wonderful it is to be a mom!

Moises' mother gave us a pair of pajama pants he use to wear as a baby. Jorja has been wearing them around the house. I had to take some pictures of her in these cute pants. Can you believe that her Papi use to wear these....

Ring the bell....LJS

We had Long John Silver's for dinner lastnight along with some stuffed crab I made. I'm not sure if LJS is something our daughter should be eating or not but she LOVES it! She ate fish and she even had the malt vinegar on it-which she really liked. That's my girl! She also liked the stuffed crab. It never occured to me that these foods could be bad for her until after the meal. I have been making her baby food by boiling/steaming the veggies and then blending them-it's such a HUGE savings to prepare it at home. We will lay off of the LJS for awhile or until I find out it's okay for her to eat fish yet. Ring the bell Jorja Gray!
