Kitty Food or Kiddie Food

Last week I was at the stove cooking dinner while Jorja was pounding on the patio door watching the dogs in the backyard. She was talking and having a conversation with herself and then it got quiet so I turned around and found my beautiful baby girl in the cat food. I yell "No" as I run over to her sticking my finger in her mouth to get all of the dry food out when all of a sudden I smell something...it wasn't just the dry food she had gotten into. Her hand were covered in sliced beef wet cat food. OMG she smelled so bad, she had eaten both the wet and dry food. I didn't know what else to do so I gave her some applejuice and let her wash it down.

Here are some pictures of her and her Grandma Toni who is 71 (doesn't she look great) and a picture her Uncle Daniel took of them on his cell phone.

First Haircut

I was trying to hold out until Jorja was one year old for her first haircut....but we couldn't wait until then. Moises got out the scissors on Sunday and cut her three inch mullet completely off and also trimmed her bangs. I have to admit, she's so adorable with her new haircut but it broke my heart. Moises and I shared a bottle of champagne before the haircutting ceremony so that helped calm me down.

Good Things To Come in 2008

I must start off by saying Thank You to my husband for getting us a mini-van!! We traded in our family car-the Impala, for a 2008 Town and Country. I love it! There's so much room. Jorja likes sitting up high so she can see out the window. I've been wanting a mini-van for years for some reason and now I have one. I'm so glad that my husband doesn't mind being seen in a mini-van. We have decided not to call it a mini-van, we now call it Big Blue. I realize that a mini-van isn't cool but I can't help but love it, it's perfect for us!

Our little girl has her first tooth at seven months old. She's crawling all over the place and standing while holding onto furniture. She's growing way too fast. Our lives have changed completely since we had her. I love being a mom and Moises loves being a dad to Jorja. I have finally been blessed with patience. I didn't think that would ever happen.

We have decided it's time to get debt free! We've been working on this for a couple of years now. We stopped using any credit cards in 2005 and we've been paying off our debt little by little. We believe we can change our lives and our future by doing this. I recommend the book Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey to assist you in becoming debt free. My good friend Stacey and her husband Omar, up and moved to Georgia this summer. Their move has turned my life upside down. I miss them so much! I have included a picture of Stacey, her niece Hannah and JG. We were use to seeing each other every day for a while. We will have to take a road trip in Big Blue to visit this spring. I miss you guys!

Birthday Number 35

We didn't do much for my birthday this year. I was really sick the day before and still feeling bad on my birthday. My dad and his family dropped by. Mom was still here visiting for the holiday. It was nice to have both of my parents here for my birthday. Tammy baked me a birthday cake stuffed with strawberries which was unexpected. I wasn't planning on a cake this year. My daughter drew on a birthday card for me, it was so precious and she gave me a hazelnut candle which is my favorite!

Tis The Season

We've been so busy and sick to write around here. Jorja was sick with this horrible cough and now I have it. Jorja got well and now she getting it again. How am I suppose to stay away from her for a couple of weeks so we can both get better? It's impossible.

I have some pictures of our Christmas to share with everyone. We had a Christmas party at dad's in Crandall in mid-December. We were lucky enough to take a picture of four generations, Grandma Dixon, dad, me and Jorja. Then we celebrated Christmas Eve with Granny Karen, Uncle David, Aunt Frances and Grammy. Jorja enjoyed opening her gifts. She loved the wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and cards. Moises and I enjoyed every second.
Jorja and I waited in line to see Santa at the mall for 2 HOURS!!! It was crazy. She did great though. She didn't cry or get fussy. Once she made it to Santa's lap she looked up at him and smiled. Next year I think it will be dad's turn to wait in line.
